A pool table move in Surrey is priced by the clock, not by the table. What sets the number is the size of the table, whether the bed is slate or wood, the teardown at one end, the access at both ends, and the re-level at the other.

Home Billiards, a BC billiards specialist, lists the breakdown as rails, pockets, felt, slate, base and legs. We work the same order. Pockets off, rails unbolt, cloth lifts, slate out, legs off the frame, hardware bagged by section, slate carried on edge like glass.
The clock covers all of it. Plan on about an hour to take a 3-piece slate table apart and about an hour to rebuild and level it, plus the drive.

Blatt Billiards puts a 7 foot slate table at 700 lb, an 8 foot at 1,000 lb and a 9 foot at 1,300 lb. Sawyer Twain runs lighter, 500 to 700 lb for a 7 foot and 800 to 1,200 lb for a 9 foot. The real answer is a spread, and we won’t average it into a figure nobody published.
Blatt also says slate is 60 to 70 percent of the total weight, and Ola Moving puts the bed at roughly 70 percent. Crew size follows weight. Billiard Home runs two movers on a 7 foot, three on an 8 foot and four on a 9 foot.

The difference lands in the hours. Three pieces come out one at a time and each gets shimmed on its own at the far end, a point Pool Table Portfolio makes too. A one-piece slab has no forgiveness, so it needs more hands and more time to set. A table that isn’t level is one where every ball drifts to a rail. Every cost page reduces this to two words, and it’s half the work.
Pool Table Portfolio walks through the method. A 12 to 18 inch machinist’s level at 0.005 inch per foot sensitivity, checked against a four foot straightedge. Shims under the slate and at the legs. Seams warmed, beeswax dripped in, re-melted, scraped flush.

Take the crew rate for the crew the job needs, multiply by the hours on the clock, add the travel time. That’s the move.
The Canadian Association of Movers says local moves inside the same town are billed by the hour, and long distance by weight. Airtasker’s US cost research puts a local pool table job at 2 to 4 hours of labour.
Here’s the part nobody writes down. Adding a mover raises the hourly rate and usually lowers the hours. On a slate bed up a turning basement flight it often lands lower overall, because two people wrestling a 250 lb slab take longer than three carrying it clean. It’s a tradeoff, not a promise. Billiard Home’s 2026 US pricing breakdown puts a full 7 or 8 foot three-piece slate move at 400 US dollars, disassembly, transport, reassembly and levelling included. Ola Moving, a New Jersey company, puts the same job at 550 to 1,500 US dollars. Honest Billiard Service in Calgary posts a starting figure of 550 dollars.
The numbers run from roughly 400 to 1,500 for the same job. The gap isn’t the table. It’s the access, the crew and the clock. Those are other companies’ figures, not ours, and the US ones aren’t Canadian dollars. We don’t post rates, because the hours are what you actually pay for.
